Our apprenticeships

Electronics engineer EFZ

During the four years you will work in the hardware department - with the exception of two non-departmental internships in software or another development department. You will learn how to solder circuits together, program and lay out PCBs. You will also carry out your own smaller projects from planning to implementation.

The requirements for an apprenticeship as an electronics technician at Sensirion are the ability to work in a team, a quick perception, interest in electronics and enthusiasm for mathematics and physics.

Design engineer EFZ

In the four years, you will apply various design processes and handle design orders. In the first year of your apprenticeship, you will mainly attend inter-company courses where you will learn the basics of design engineering. During this time, you will complete a workshop internship. Afterwards, you will carry out and document projects yourself in the company. This includes brainstorming, designing the concept, creating technical drawings, initiating inquiries and orders, as well as implementation and assembly work.

The requirements for an apprenticeship as a design engineer at Sensirion are the ability to work in a team, enjoyment of technology, good comprehension skills and spatial awareness.

Business administrator EFZ

During the three years you will go through six departments (Reception, Marketing, Purchasing, Finance, Order Processing and Human Resources). In each department you stay for half a year and learn the most important basic skills. This includes customer reception, project work, purchasing and sales, accounting and assisting with personnel administration. In addition, you will complete short internships in production and logistics.

Digital business developer EFZ

Over the course of four years, you will learn how to analyze data, understand business processes, and optimize them digitally. In your first year of training, you will learn the basics of IT and business processes. You will then actively participate in projects, optimize processes using digital tools, and support teams throughout the company.

Your main tasks will include data analysis, process automation, working on SAP solutions, and communicating with various departments.

The requirements for an apprenticeship as a Digital Business Developer with us are the ability to work in a team, an interest in IT and business, logical thinking, and a passion for precise and service-oriented work.

Logistics specialist EFZ

During the three years, you will learn how to check and receive goods as well as how to operate the subsequent booking in the computer system. In addition, you will supply goods with the help of forklifts and special conveyor machines and prepare delivery documents and load vehicles. You will also work in the warehouse and check stock levels.

The requirements for your apprenticeship as a logistics specialist at Sensirion are practical understanding, as well as manual skills and organizational talent. You must also be reliable, have stamina and the ability to concentrate, as well as be sociable and service-minded.

Facilities manager EFZ

During the three years you will do repairs, maintenance and upkeep on our buildings, take care of the landscaping and clean the buildings and outdoor facilities. You will learn how to take care of technical installations such as heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems and support our company electrician with smaller installations. In addition, you will work in the areas of logistics, waste disposal, hazardous materials storage and transport, and set up workstations and transport furniture.

The requirements for your apprenticeship as a facilities manager at Sensirion are an interest in manual work, enjoyment of teamwork, physical resilience, reliability and a good sense of order.

Computer scientist EFZ - platform developer

During the four years, you will be responsible for various activities, such as looking after the service desk, being responsible for the printers, programming scripts and working on larger IT projects. You will learn how to solve office problems, install software and set up new user profiles.

The requirements for an apprenticeship as an IT specialist at Sensirion are the ability to work in a team, sociability, helpfulness, creativity, flexibility and interest in computer work as well as math, English and science.

ICT specialist EFZ

Over the course of three years, you will support the Client Services team with your active assistance in day-to-day business, processing and handling all kinds of work such as maintenance, installations and enquiries. In the first year, you will learn all the important basic skills of an ICT specialist.

The prerequisites for an apprenticeship as an ICT specialist with us are networked thinking and behaviour, enjoyment in dealing with people and an interest in software and hardware. In addition to daily support in Stäfa, you will often also provide international support and work with international IT colleagues. We therefore require good oral and written English skills.

Automation engineer EFZ

The apprenticeship is carried out together with Libs, the association for industrial apprenticeships in Switzerland. You will spend the first two years of your apprenticeship at Libs and the second two years at Sensirion. During the four years, you will work on projects and orders with various specialists, develop or design solutions for control and automation, plan production processes and prepare technical documents.

The requirements for your apprenticeship as an automation technician at Sensirion are an interest in technical contexts and special electrical engineering, reliability and a sense of responsibility. You must also be communicative, as you will often work in interdisciplinary projects and have to deal with different people, such as designers, developers and engineers.

Application process

Are you still wondering which profession to choose? If so, we would be delighted to see you at one of our career taster days. Between February and May, we offer you the opportunity to get to know your dream job during a trial day. The dates and the registration link will be published in the fall.

Have you already decided what apprenticeship you want to take up? If so, we look forward to receiving your application from July. All the applications will be read personally before we come to any decisions. The next step is to invite you to an application day. If you are selected, we will send you your apprenticeship contract, which you and your parents will need to sign.

We support the vocational baccalaureate

You can complete all apprenticeships with or without a vocational baccalaureate. We support you in obtaining the vocational baccalaureate! The vocational baccalaureate enables you to study at a university of applied sciences

Your start with us

In the spring before you start your apprenticeship, we will invite you and your parents to an information event. There, you will receive further important information about your apprenticeship and have the opportunity to ask questions. You will also get to know your Sensirion mentor and the trainers.

To make your start with us as stress-free as possible, your apprenticeship will begin a week before college.

First of all, a welcome day awaits you. You can look forward to an entertaining day’s program during which you will get to know all the other apprentices. At the end of this eventful day, we will invite you to a drinks reception where we will bid farewell to the apprentices who have successfully completed their training.

It is important to us that you stay in contact with your colleagues from different areas and can also find out about other professions. This is why we organize a monthly apprentice get-together. We also organize an annual apprentice excursion and an apprentice camp every two years, where we support a charitable project together with the Bergwald training workshop.
