Sensirion, a global leader in environmental sensing solutions, is thrilled to announce the SFA40, the newest addition to their formaldehyde sensor portfolio. The first half of the year closed with sales of CHF 128.0 million. This represents an organic revenue increase of 8.9 % in local currencies and 3.9 % in Swiss francs compared to the same period last year. Growth was driven by the automotive and industrial markets, whereas year-on-year sales comparisons in medical and consumer are impacted by ongoing de-stocking effects. The operating result was significantly impacted by the discontinuation of Sensirion condition monitoring activities in Berlin. Adjusted for these one-off effects, the gross margin amounts to 47.5 % and the adjusted EBITDA margin is 4.6 %.

The STC31-C is a new gas concentration sensor for measuring high-range CO₂ concentrations. It is particularly suitable for high-volume applications in the transportation and storage of perishable and pharmaceutical goods, as well as for breath analyzers for measuring and monitoring CO₂ in human breath. The STC31-C is now available globally via our distribution partners. 

Introducing Dustlight – a mobile fine dust measuring device designed to safeguard workers from dust exposure in industrial and craft workplaces. The first-of-its-kind device, Dustlight, is equipped with Sensirion’s SEN5x sensor series, setting new standards in air quality monitoring.

At the annual general meeting on May 13, 2024, in Rapperswil-Jona, the shareholders of Sensirion Holding AG were informed about the results of the Sensirion group for the financial year 2023, which were impacted by declining sales due to weaker end customer demand as well as ongoing inventory reductions. The shareholders approved all proposals of the Board of Directors.

•    Impairments (non-cash) of around CHF 25 million, restructuring costs and provisions for the closure of the site of CHF 3–5 million in 2024
•    The decision will lead to a slight improvement in operating cash flow from 2025 onwards

As part of a critical review of all innovation projects and to increase the strategic focus of the business, the board of directors of Sensirion Holding has decided, at the request of the management, to give up the activities in condition monitoring of the previously acquired startup AiSight. This will lead to the closure of Sensirion’s Berlin site.
