Sensirion has successfully developed its first ASIL-certified humidity and temperature sensor, marking an important step in the advancement of autonomous driving. This sensor plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of ADAS systems, such as steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire, by detecting water and humidity ingress early on.
The process of achieving ASIL certification involved significant cross-functional collaboration and the integration of rigorous safety standards into our product development. The work focused on adapting internal processes, ensuring detailed documentation, and embedding functional safety in every phase of production.
